District Four Coalition is committed to making districtfourcoalition.org accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What we are doing

  • Using WordPress Twenty Twenty-Two, a block theme built with accessibility in mind
  • Providing descriptive link text and image alt text throughout the site
  • Maintaining color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA standards
  • Ensuring keyboard navigation works across all pages
  • Using semantic HTML heading structure on all pages
  • Providing a mobile navigation drawer with proper ARIA roles and keyboard support

Known limitations

Some content on this site is provided by third-party services that we do not fully control. These include:

  • CalendarWiz — Community calendar embed. We encourage CalendarWiz to improve their accessibility; a text link to the full calendar is available as an alternative.
  • Airtable — Neighborhood Association directory embed. Airtable publishes its own accessibility roadmap.
  • 3D FlipBook (dFlip) — PDF viewer. Documents are also available for direct download.

Technical information

This site is built with WordPress 6.9 using the Twenty Twenty-Two block theme. We assess accessibility by:

  • Self-evaluation against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria
  • Testing with keyboard-only navigation
  • Testing on mobile devices at common viewport widths
